Nancy Hannemann joined KWASU in May 2010 as the founding Director of the Centre for Innovation and International Studies.  Before coming to KWASU, Nancy was the Director of Global Education at the University of Alberta in Canada for fifteen years, where she developed many innovative programs promoting global citizenship.  Her work has been acknowledged through several awards, most recently the Canadian Bureau for International Education’s 2009 Award for Outstanding International Program: the University of Alberta’s International Week.  Nancy has had an interest in Nigeria since 1977, when she came as a volunteer with Canadian Crossroads International; she returned in the mid-1980s for some time, pursuing graduate research, as well as advancing the work of CUSO (Canadian University Services Overseas). She has continuously promoted the work of non-governmental organizations engaged in international development, most recently as a board member of the North-South Institute based in Ottawa, Canada.  Nancy holds a Master of Art’s degree in social anthropology from Manchester University

 

AbdulGaniyu Issa was born in Ilorin and started his primary education there, before briefly moving to Saudi Arabia.  He studied chemistry at Bayero University in 1999 before receiving his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in industrial sociology from the University of Ilorin.

He joined Kwara State University as an administrative officer to the Vice-Chancellor, and received commendation from the Vice-Chancellor for his contribution to the success of the first matriculation ceremony of the University.  Before his appointment as the Assistant Director, Centre for Innovation and International Studies, he was the Acting Head of the Transport Unit.
