Program Objective
The Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is a higher Diploma that is specifically designed for Non-Education graduates that are either currently teaching or intend to take up teaching appointment in later life. It is designed to provide would-be teachers with in-depth knowledge and understanding of teaching pedagogy including lesson planning preparation, teaching strategies, teacher and student evaluation, use of teaching materials and infusing of technology into teaching, all with a view to ensuring production of competent and efficient teachers.
Admission Eligibility
Candidate seeking admission into the KWASU PGDE program must possess one of the following qualifications: -
(a) An honors degree of the Kwara State University, Malete
(b) Candidates with good first degree from an approved and accredited University.
(c) HND with minimum of pass grade in any relevant teaching subjects.
(d) An NYSC Discharge Certificate or a Letter of Exemption from NYSC Service is required as evidence
Programme Duration
The PGDE programme shall run on a part-time basis. The duration of the program shall be 2 contact sessions. In addition, students will be required to spend twelve (12) weeks on the field for their teaching practice in an approved secondary school, a technical college, vocational centres or an industrial training school, as the case may be.

ADMISSION INTO 2019 KWASU PART-TIME/ EVENING DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Application forms are now available on-line for suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following KWASU Part-Time Degree Programs in the Institute of Education
AVAILABLE COURSES IN PART-TIME/ EVENING PROGRAMMES ARE:
MODE OF STUDY:
Studies shall be in the evening time from 15.00h till 18.00h (3.00pm to 6.00pm) from Monday to Saturday of every week. This will be convenient for teachers who need to develop themselves in order to enhance their status in the teaching profession. The program shall cover a period of 10 semester of five (5) academic years for UTME applicants, 8 semesters of four (4) academic years for ND/NCE with less than 12 points or any other diploma holder as specified in the respective requirements of each program and 6 Semesters of three (3) academic year for HND/ Degree holder not in Education. This means that three semesters shall be covered in one academic year, summer period inclusive.
