KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO MAKING KWASU WORLD CLASS

The Kwara State Government says it remains committed to making the Kwara State University a World Class Institution.

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed stated this at the Social Entrepreneurship Day  of the 2012 Global Entrepreneurship week Celebration of the Kwara State University’s, Centre for Entrepreneurship.   The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Alhaji Raji Muhammed, noted the support of the State Government to the Institution over the years which have culminated in the grooming of students who are being trained to be global citizens.

According to him, the goal and vision of the Kwara State University of producing entrepreneurially grounded students who will be job providers upon graduation, tallies with the vision of the Kwara State Government of shared prosperity.

Speaking earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah noted that KWASU will produce graduates who will solve the problems of unemployment and street roaming occasioned by the youths in search of nonexistent white-collar jobs.

Every student who graduates from KWASU he says, would have been trained to be job creators. This, he added is now evident as some of the KWASU students are already employers of labour.

Describing KWASU as the Entrepreneurial University Professor Na’Allah, said the Institution has been making great efforts at globalising its students.

The Director of the KWASU Centre for Entrepreneurship, Dr. Muritala Awodun  in an address noted that from the inception of KWASU, the University has thought it appropriate to commence   operations with the resolve to produce graduates that are creative and innovative, and who  can compete favourably world over.  This, therefore, necessitated the establishment of the Centre for Entrepreneurship that will develop the creative and innovative abilities in every student that passes through the University.  This, he explained, will be done through an entrepreneurship process that is holistic in approach and designed to impress on the students’ way of thinking, reasoning and acting. The students outlook will also be opportunity obsessed and leadership oriented.
