The Academic Research and Planning Unit of Kwara State University is an integral part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. It coordinates and supports strategic planning analysis and assessment for the University and advances and produces policy developments decision making, innovation and implementation. To fulfill that mission, the unit seeks to articulate and forster a shared understanding of the long-term vision for the system, understand the plans and requirements and consider how to respond to emerging trends in higher education, research and other areas that affect the University. It is also responsible for evaluating and reporting on the University’s programmes in achieving its academic goals and it provides leadership support and oversight for innovative academic initiatives mounted on a system wide basis.

The Unit collects, analyses and interprets data from relevant University Units. It ensures periodic updating and analysis for internal evaluation of the performance status as stipulated by regulatory body. It collects data on University’s changing trends for University based research. It serves as the members and provides secretariat for the following University’s Committees:

• Central Strategic Planning
• ETF Implementation Committee
• Accreditation / Resource Verification
• University’s Internally Generated Revenue
