KWARA STATE UNIVERSITY HOLDS WORKSHOP ON THE FUNDAMENTALS OF GRANT WRITING.
The Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, says that the State University, is committed to advancing the frontiers of knowledge.
Professor Na’Allah represented by the Provost of the College of Pure and Applied Sciences of the institution, Professor Adeboye Kolawole, stated this at a workshop on the Fundamentals of Grant Writing, organised by the Centre for Sponsored Projects of the institution.
Professor Na’Allah pointed out that, it is important for Academics to source for funds for research using the appropriate means and format.
The University Don pointed out that the workshop was organised for Kwara State University staff, to enable them obtain the latest knowledge and skills, using research.
The forum he says will bring together experts to share knowledge and experiences, on the ways of accessing the funds available for research nationally and internationally.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director for Sponsored Projects, Professor Olufemi Abodunrin, noted the objectives of the workshop to include, exposing participants to what a seasoned grant proposal evaluator will look for while reading grant submissions how to incorporate administration and evaluation into a grant proposal as well as list seven activities in which an organisation should be involved in to successfully access grants.
The workshop Professor Abodunrin explained, will also teach how to use grant writing as a community organisation tool, put heart in a problem statement and the importance of goals and objectives in a proper format.
