Brief History of the Faculty
Faculty of Education is one of KWASU’s pioneering Faculties from inception in 2009, starting as a College in Malete with four programmes: Business Education; Early Childhood and Primary Education; Human Kinetics and Health Education; and Special Education.
The pioneer Provost was Prof. N. B. Oyedeji (2009–2010); Prof. Mohammed Gambari led from 2010 to 2020. The College was renamed the Faculty of Education by the late Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muhammed Akanbi, SAN. Prof. Titus A. Umoru was appointed Dean in 2020 and currently administers the Faculty.

Mission / Vision
Mission: To prepare and empower students to become effective, ethical educators committed to student well‑being and societal development—through strong foundations in theory and practice, critical thinking, reflective practice, social responsibility, and inclusive learning communities.
Vision: To be a leader in education—producing skilled, compassionate educators who positively impact students and communities through collaboration with schools and organizations, and research advancing effective teaching practices.

“We emphasize the study and practice of teaching. Students gain classroom experience with modern instructional approaches and technologies, and industry exposure via the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) to build employability and entrepreneurship.”
